Destinations by plane

A small selection of our favourite (flight) destinations in the area. Detailed descriptions and pictures are still missing. Also something for our winter evenings...
LFBH
LaRochelle
17nm
Nice harbor town with around 77,000 inhabitants. Lots of shopping, good restaurants and interesting sights
LFOO
Les Sables d'Olonne
20nm
Port, fishing and bathing town. Good fish restaurants and nice to stroll around. A bit lively in summer and many French tourists, but still worth a visit.
LFDP
Saint Pierre d'Oleron
30nm
One of our favorite islands for bike tours. Bikes can be hired at the airport. Great cycle paths, beautiful beaches, good restaurants and very fresh oysters directly from the oyster farmers.
LFEY
Ile d'Yeu
50 nm
A great island! No skyscrapers and concrete buildings, but pretty little houses painted white with colorful, mostly blue shutters. Idyllic bays on the east coast. In season, daily weekly market in Saint-Sauveur. Plenty of nice bistros and cafes in Port-Joinville where day visitors come by ferry. There is no hectic pace here and life is slowed down.
LFIV
Vendays Montalivet
65nm
Due to the military area, the airfield can only be approached on weekends. The reward for the walk through the pine forests to Montalivet-les-Bains is the subsequent visit to the market. In addition to French delicacies, you will find pretty much everything here that you don't actually need. In the season there is almost always live music from solo artists or small bands.
LFRE
La Baule
67nm
La Baule claims that the 7 km long sandy beach in the middle of the city is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. As long as you're looking at the water, we agree. Apartment complexes with balconies only emerge from the landscape when you look over your shoulder. Those who like beach promenades will feel at home here. A cross street behind the beach promenade plunges into a beautiful wooded villa area.
LFEA
Belle île
96nm
The largest of the Breton Islands has a lot to offer. Tranquil beaches, spectacular cliffs and colorful harbours. The best way to explore the island is by car or scooter.
LFBD
Bordeaux
101nm
We only fly to Bordeaux if we can plan at least one overnight stay. The old town unfolds its charm and flair only in the evening. We prefer to end up in LFCS (Saucats). No landing fee and then Uber into town.
LFCH
Arcachon
112nm
Here you will find the largest shifting dune in Europe, the Dune du Pilat. Once climbed, there is a breathtaking view of the Arcachon Basin. We are always drawn back here.
LFRF
Mont Saint-Michel
146nm
You've probably heard of the rocky island of Mont Saint-Michel in the Normandy Wadden Sea. It is home to an abbey and the Mont is visited by over 2 million people a year.
LFBZ
Biarritz
180nm
The fashionable lake and bathing resort is located in the extreme south-west of France. We enjoy the return flight from Biarritz along the Atlantic coast in the evening hours to the air park the most.
